Do you Take Your Own Advice?

Taking your own advice

Most of us are famous when it comes to dishing out advice to people. The amusing thing is that we even give advise when we are not asked for it.

We know the solutions to everybody’s problem. Everybody but ourselves.

Yes!  I said it

a totally unrelated picture of a billionaire AND a glass of iced coke 😎😎😎

You see, we have the time to analyse and dissect issues about other people but we’re unable to do the same when it comes to issues that concern us.

Being advisors and contributors to other people's issues seem easier than facing ours. I think even renowned counsellors face the same challenges.

Why do you think that is?

Well, I'm going to share my thoughts on the matter and I'd leave the floor open for your contributions and suggestions.

Deal?

Okay 🤝

For as long as I can remember, people always come to me seeking for one form of advice or the other, not minding whether or not I have any experience on the subject matter. This confidence people exhibited towards me made me take it upon myself most times to actually read up on stuff I had no prior idea about (this has its pros and cons).

Anyway, I have gotten used to advising people and it has almost become normal to me until recently when I discovered the topic of today.

I somehow was and have been unable to advise myself whenever I am in situations on which I would normally advise my friends.

Why do you think that is?

I really don’t know and I’d like to know what you think the problem is

PS: *Expected ends are boring, LMAO*

But for real, tell me what you think….

  1. It is a common phenomenon. It does not happen to you alone, really. Though, I won't say I know why. This is why almost everybody is a preacher today. We are all hearers of the Word of God and very very few of us are doers of the Word, hence the world is a turmoil! It we do what we preach or what we hear, the world will be a Paradise.

  2. Well, as we know it is much harder to put words into action. Now your friends come to you for advice, instead of trying to figure it out by themselves. It could be they really don't know what to do or they consciously or unconsciously want someone to blame if things go wrong. You and I are not so different from these friends, we want someone else to reaffirm the "advice" we already know within us. Or to simply show us a different way. We know no man is an island, we can't know it all. Maybe it's nature's way of making us reach out to one another. Who knows........
